Synopsis.

The Calm at the Edge of the Sea follows the course of Travis, a young man who leaves a troubled life in Los Angeles to live with an uncle and family he has not seen in years.

His humorous and outspoken Uncle Pete welcomes Travis into his home and finds him work on a family friend’s farm. Travis befriends his co-worker Billy--a local rancher, and learns to appreciate his new environment. What at first appears to be a tranquil life by the sea gradually unravels when Billy’s longtime girlfriend Faye meets Travis, and attraction
sparks.

Faye is tired of the simple small town life, and tensions begin to flare between the free spirited
Travis--who can offer her a new path, and the apathetic yet content Billy--who chooses not to run awayfrom his inner-demons.The conflicting viewpoints ultimately unravel into an ending none could expect.

A supporting cast of characters including Uncle Pete’s charming wife Dea and Billy’s boisterous fisherman friends, round off a group that teach Travis many a life lesson.

Using raw and unforgettable imagery, The Calm at the Edge of the Sea delivers a turbulent wave of emotions and life-like situations, from the most intense love to the darkest of temptations; the film is a melancholy drama that faces difficult moral and social issues with modern relationship problems.
